Microsoft Access database development

We love Microsoft Access. In fact most of our development is carried out using Access. Access allows us to produce prototypes quickly and simply, in turn enabling the client to confirm at an early stage that we have correctly understood the brief and to ensure that nothing obvious is missing.

Once a prototype has been produced and our understanding of the requirements confirmed, development progresses to finalisation of data input and enquiry forms, incorporating data validation, report design and general application usability.  Not forgetting data and user security.

However

Whilst Microsoft Access might be a suitable fit for most requirements it's not always the answer; where appropriate we can link an Access 'front-end' (what the user sees), with a MS SQL back-end (where the data is stored).

In other cases we might suggest a different approach; perhaps an MS SQL database with the program written in Visual Basic .Net.

Before coming to a decision, factors such as the number and geographical location of potential users, the volume of transactions and the client's existing computing infrastructure will all be taken into consideration.
